If you want to grow your email list, then you have to put your best foot forward.
That’s why, when it comes to creating podcast upgrades, you’ll want to consider how, why, and what you’re audience looks to you for.
This post is from an email sent to subscribers of my list. To get daily updates on podcast marketing, list building, audience growth, and hear first about promotional opportunities only available to subscribers, click here now.
Here’s a perfect example…
One (big name) podcaster recently took my advice and implemented The Take Home Technique in his top-ranked podcast.
You’ve probably seen him floating around in the iTunes recommended podcasts, or maybe in the top 10 charts when his new episodes go live.
He hosts little podcast called The School of Greatness.
Week in and week out, Lewis Howes packs the heat with 3 episodes, including his latest edition, dubbed ‘Five Minute Fridays.’
But, there’s a problem.
You see, Lewis has a lot on his plate and everyone seems to want a piece of him these days.
So what’d he do?
He recorded an extra 5 minutes in a bonus episode, and made it available via opt-in.
Lewis understands that his audience loves hearing his advice, in addition to his guest interviews, and delivered on that by offering a few extra minutes of his time.
What does this mean for you?
Well… you know your audience better than anyone.
(if you don’t, just hit reply and we can chat)
Think about what they look up to you for, and brainstorm what you could offer, even if it’s something small (an image, a social post, bonus audio, etc.) and make it available in your next podcast episode.
And if you need a little more inspiration, check out the latest episode of The School Of Greatness and opt-in to see how Lewis and his team are leveraging the The Take Home Technique to build their email list and bring valuable content to The School Of Greatness audience.
