When to NOT build your email list

A SnapChat response from my new Aussie friend Vin:

You may not believe it, but I’ve been in business for 9 years and have never built an email list.

You heard it right.

As your list-building buddy, I think it’s important for you to know that I too built my business with no email list…

Well, not a “normal” email list like we talk about here.

It was a written, manual, inside-of-gmail list.

You see, success in business means the balance between the following:

  • Short-term goals
  • Mid-term goals
  • Long-term goals

List-building is a mid to long-term goal.

So if you’re strapped for cash, put the list-building aside and focus on the tasks that bring you revenue.

That means reaching out to people with money and offering them something that makes their world easier or leads them to more mula.

To this point I’ve called it a “reverse email list”.

Any who, I’ve been toying with the idea of teaching this workshop-style –

Where you would learn exactly where to find clients (even if you’ve never found them before), and potentially start making money right away – regardless of how big your “personal brand” or social following is.
